Better Late Than Never!

I don't know why it takes me soooo long to get around to updating my blog, but I really want to remember our wonderful month of December.

Lexi turned 5 in December and had a little party with her friends from school!

Here is her birthday announcement.

Lexi loves ALL the girls in her preschool, and talks about them all the time! I wanted to keep it pretty simple so we only invited those girls. Lexi and I decided on a cupcake themed party. At the party we started out by coloring while we waited for all the girls to come. We played musical chairs (I know that has nothing to do with cupcakes, but Lexi really wanted to play that game). We pinned the cherry on the cupcake. Then Lexi opened her presents, and I let them open them up and play with them for a little while. Next we frosted and make these adorable cupcakes I saw in a magazine. They were so stinking cute, however not the best tasting. I guess if you LOVE marshmallows you would probably like them. The girls stayed focus on this for the frosting part and starting with the outside of the petals then they pretty much stuck a bunch a candy ans sprinkles on it and took a few bites and went back to playing. Later that day we had a dinner with grandparents and more presents!

Next comes our Christmas parties and Christmas.

I feel so lucky so be able to spend Christmas eve and Christmas day home with my family! We have started a few traditions for Christmas eve. We exchange names within our family and open those on Christmas eve. We also give our kids one present which is new pj's, and we get one family gift which is a new Christmas book. Then we make Santa a treat, listen to Christmas music, play with our new toys that we just got, and also our new toys from Grandma & Grandpa.
Christmas morning was so fun! My kids are at such a fun stage and were so excited with everything they got! After we got done opening presents I made biscuits and a sausage gravy. I was so proud of myself because it was my first time making them and they actually tuned out good (that rarely happens)! Jeff's mom always made biscuits and gravy on Christmas morning and he really wanted to bring that tradition into our family. After we ate we spent the rest of the morning setting up race tracks, scooters, and all the goods that needed assembly. Then we played all day! IT WAS FABULOUS!
